Denver Street Art & Graffiti Tours: RiNo's Murals, Hidden Alleyways & the Stories Behind Them
Tour Overview
RiNo — Denver's River North Art District — is home to some of the most striking, diverse, and culturally significant street art in the country. RiNo's walls have attracted local art legends as well as some of the most celebrated international street artists in the world — and the art they've left behind shares powerful statements, collaborations, memorials, and masterpieces. RiNo's earned its reputation as one of the premier street art destinations in the country — and the amazing murals covering its walls are the reason why.
Most people walk right past the best of it. Walking through RiNo without a guide is like reading a book in a language you almost speak — you might get the gist, but you miss everything that makes it extraordinary.
Our Denver street art and graffiti tours take you off the main drag and duck into some of the activated alleyways, hidden corners, and storied walls that most visitors — and most locals — never find on their own. Led by expert local guides who know the artists, the history, and the stories that don't show up on any map, these are the tours that shared the fun, weird and unique stories behind RiNo's art and the diverse artists that created it.
Since 2015, we've introduced over 64,000 guests to Denver's most colorful neighborhood — and we'd love to show it to you.

Thea W. "This was so cool! I'm a local and even though I live nearby, I never noticed half of what we saw on the tour and didn't know any of the stories about the murals. Plus getting to hear the insider stories about the artists made for a great afternoon out. Plus, the pace was great, the chocolate was delicious, and having a rest break where we could grab a beer was well thought-out. You rocked Jill!

Why a Guided RiNo Street Art Tour Beats Going It Alone
You could walk around RiNo by yourself. Some people do... but, here's what you'd miss:
🎨The stories are the best part.
The murals in RiNo aren't just visually stunning — they're layered with stories, intention, meaning, and sometimes, some fun, hidden "Easter Eggs" - none of which is visible on the surface. Why did an internationally acclaimed Spanish duo choose Denver for one of their largest North American murals? What's the story behind the MPEK mural? Who is GATS, and what does the presence of unsanctioned street art mean for a neighborhood that's been through as much change as RiNo? Our guides don't just show you the art. They make it mean something while keeping it fun and light-hearted.
🎨The hidden alleyways aren't findable on your own.
RiNo's most extraordinary art isn't always on the main streets. It's tucked into activated alleyways, painted on walls that face away from foot traffic, and stacked above eye level on buildings most people never look up at. Our guides know exactly where to look — and they'll take you to pieces that you could walk past a hundred times without ever seeing.
🎨The neighborhood is changing fast.
Street art is, by nature, temporary. New pieces go up; others disappear. Our guides are out in RiNo constantly — they know the best new murals and what's worth going out of your way to see right now. A self-guided walk with a map you found online might take you to walls that have been painted over months, or even, years ago.
🎨You'll actually understand what you're looking at.
The difference between seeing a mural and understanding it is the difference between a good afternoon and a super fun one that you'll remember for a long time. Our guests consistently say the same thing: "I live in Denver and I thought I knew RiNo — this tour completely changed how I see it."
Denver Street Art & RiNo Murals Tour FAQs
🔶Why is Denver's RiNo neighborhood famous for street art?
RiNo — short for River North Art District — began its transformation from a light-industrial neighborhood into one of America's most vibrant street art destinations in the early 2010s. What started as a grassroots movement of local artists reclaiming warehouse walls has evolved into a nationally recognized art district that attracts internationally acclaimed muralists from around the world. Today, RiNo's streets and alleyways contain hundreds of murals ranging from intimate neighborhood tributes to multi-story collaborations by artists with global reputations. The neighborhood is widely considered one of the best places in the country to experience urban street art.
🔶What murals will I see on the Denver street art tour?
Our RiNo street art tour route includes the iconic HAPPY mural by Kenzie Sitterud, the internationally acclaimed multi-story PichiAvo! collaboration, the renowned MPEK mural, an alleyway piece by GATS (similar to Banksy... we don't know who GATS is), Casey Kawaguchi's extraordinary freehand masterpiece, Lauren YS graffiti, the original art alleyway that helped spark the RiNo street art movement, and numerous additional pieces throughout the neighborhood's art-filled alleyways. Because street art evolves constantly, the route is updated regularly to reflect the best of what's currently on the walls.
🔶Is the Denver street art tour good for people who aren't into art?
Absolutely — and we hear this constantly from guests. The tour is still a great fit for people who consider themselves non-art people as it is for design enthusiasts and photographers. What draws people in isn't the art theory — it's the unique human stories behind the art: the artists' backgrounds, the cultural conversations the murals are part of, and the way RiNo itself has eveolved into one of Denver's most popular and ahppening neighborhoods. Our guides are storytellers first, and the art is the vehicle. One of our most-quoted reviews is from a guest who said he "wasn't even super into art" before the tour and left with a completely new appreciation for street art and the RiNo neighborhood.
🔶Does the beer tasting require an ID?
Yes — the craft beer tasting at the mid-point of the tour is for guests 21 and over. A non-alcoholic beverage of your choice is included for guests under 21 or those who prefer not to drink. All ages are welcome on the tour itself.
🔶Can I do the Denver street art tour if I've already walked around RiNo?
Yes — and you'll be surprised by what you haven't seen. The majority of our guests have already spent time in RiNo, and they always tell us they discovered art, alleyways, and stories they had no idea existed. The tour covers pieces that aren't always visible from the main streets, and the context our guides provide transforms even familiar murals into something new.
