10 a.m.  Best of Denver Tours

New for June-August 2020 Due to COVID Best Practices:

Reservations Required in Advance to Keep Group Size Under 10 Guests

Dear guests,

Reservations are required here. Due to current world events and the resulting small group sizes, we have put together an exclusive, small-group Denver walking tour experience for the summer of 2020 in place of our regular, very large group 10 a.m. walking tours. We will need to collect payment (just $25/adult & $17/child) at the time of booking for tours from June-August 2020 to help our guides earn a livable wage while giving you a great experience seeing our Mile High City the best way possible: on foot! Our cancellation policy is easy and flexible at this time and you may cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours in advance of your tour!

We thank you so much for your understanding that we are unable to offer tours at no cost this summer as we work to offer a safe, and more exclusive, small group walking tour experience for nine guests maximum each day. We hope this low-cost, small group experience meets your needs and interests for exploring our Mile High City. Please know that you are supporting a small, local business, our team of guides and our families, and we are grateful for your support and for the opportunity to host you on a great experience in our Mile High City and help you create wonderful memories.

These small group tours will give you a phenomenal and unique way to explore the city on foot; seeing parts of Denver that our large, free tour groups of 25-45 guests cannot access, having more intimate access to your guide, and seeing more than our large groups could see in two hours. We recommend booking as far in advance as you feel comfortable, since there are only nine spots available daily and we have updated our cancellation policy to be easy and worry free: full refunds for you if you cancel at least 48-hours before the start of your tour.

In addition, our private tours are available and we encourage you to book a private tour if you would like to see and explore our Mile High City on foot with only your family and/or friends. If you are planning on joining one of our walking tours in the near future, please follow this guidance all tour operators in the U.S. are sharing with guests:

1. If you are not feeling well or have any cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay home and follow government guidelines for self isolation and medical care.

2. Practice physical distancing while on tour by remaining six feet apart from guests outside of your party and from your wonderful guide and host for the day.

3. Please consider bringing a mask with you and consider wearing the mask during your tour experience

These decisions were made to best support the health and wellbeing of our Denver community, our guests and guides.

Cheers,

Jill, Matt and the entire DWT team

Meeting Place:

  • The front steps are located just behind the Colorado Soldiers Monument statue pictured here. The front steps face west, towards the mountains and towards Lincoln St.

  • Be sure to arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to the tour departure time to meet your guide. Tours do start and depart on time.

  • State Capitol: 200 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO, 80203. You can use this address to guide you to the Capitol, but your GPS will likely take you to the north side of the building, NOT to the front steps and front of the building.

  • Tours still operate rain, snow, or shine and when events are happening at the Capitol or in Civic Center Park, and there are events almost every weekend in our warmer months.

    • Please check our Facebook page the morning of your tour in cases of extreme weather for cancellation announcements or to see if there are any events going on that may require the starting location to shift slightly.

  • Your guide will be wearing a neon yellow Denver Walking Tours shirt. They may also be carrying a small green Denver Free Walking Tours sign, especially in less than ideal weather.

  • Wheelchair and stroller accessible

  • Reservations required in advance to ensure a maximum group size of 9 guests. Regrettably, you will not be able to purchase tickets when you arrive at the tour starting location.

Pricing:

  • June-August 2020: $25/adult and $17/child. Children ages 2 and under are free.

Ages:

  • All ages are welcome!  Will your kid(s) like the tour? That really depends on your kiddo(s)! Our Denver sightseeing tours are suitable and designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Your guide is trained and experienced in working with youth. Youth ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Odds & Ends:

  • There is the Free 16th St. Mall shuttle that can take you back to the start of the tour, if needed.  It runs every few minutes.

  • Don't forget to bring water!

  • Also, see our FAQ page for a ton more info on our walking tours.

  • This is a great activity to do on one of your first days in town! Please note that due to the tour length and building regulations, we're only able to go inside Union Station.

Ruben B. "Our tour guide was Sherry Moon and she was an absolute pleasure! Very knowledgeable and truly loves the city's history. Recommended to all our friends and anyone going as their first event to get familiar with the city and it's little secrets including the free buses for mall street which came in VERY handy! Thank you guys!" Read full testimonial.
