There are plenty of things to do, from checking out local culture to enjoying the outdoors.
To start your spring break travels off and get a good lay of the land: Definitely join the Discover Denver Free Walking Tour; this tour is tip-based and the guides are amazing as they give you an in-depth tour of the basics in Denver. After the tour, any/all of the ideas belwo will keep you rolling for a few days.
1. Stroll through the Denver Botanic Gardens

If you want to enjoy nature, the Denver Botanic Gardens is worth a visit. This 23-acre spot in the middle of the city has beautiful flowers, calm ponds, and quiet paths. It’s a nice place for a walk, especially when the blooms show up in late March and early April. Bring a camera so you can capture the colorful views.
2. Explore Downtown Denver

Nothing says vacation like exploring Downtown Denver. The center of the city is full of things to do. Start your morning at Union Station, a historic spot with shops, restaurants, and bars. After coffee, head over to Larimer Square to see unique boutiques and street art. Then, end the day in RiNo, and be sure to stop at Denver Central Market for a mix of local food and tasty bites.
3. Discover the Denver Art Museum

The Denver Art Museum is a good spot to spend a few hours indoors. It has a wide collection that includes Native American art, modern pieces, and changing exhibits. The building itself is worth seeing since the design is striking. If you’re there with kids, they often have activities made just for them.
4. Hit the Slopes - Just a Quick Drive From Downtown Denver

March is still a great time for skiing in Colorado, and it's typically the snowiest month each year for Denver and the mountains. From Denver, you can take a short trip to resorts like Arapahoe Basin or Breckenridge. Even though the city is warming up, the mountains still have good snow, so you can enjoy spring skiing or snowboarding during the day and come back to Denver at night where it's 10+ degrees F warmer. It’s a nice way to mix city life with time on the slopes.
5. Catch a Rockies Game

If you’re in Denver in April, Coors Field is the place to catch a Rockies game. The season typically kicks off the first Friday in April and spring feels right with baseball in the air. You can sit back, enjoy the fresh breeze, snack on peanuts, and cheer for the home team (or your team - tons of fans from other places come to cheer their local team on so you'd be in good company!). Don’t miss out on trying a Denver sausage (elk or bison maybe?) while you’re there it’s part of the experience.
6. Tour the Historic Denver Union Station

Union Station is a place where history meets modern Denver. Built in 1881, the train station has been carefully restored and now offers restaurants, shops, and cozy spots for live music. You can join a tour to learn about its past or simply relax with a coffee or book while watching the flow of people.
7. Take a Day Trip to the Foothills

One of the best parts of Denver is how close it is to the Rocky Mountains. A short drive (25 minutes from downtown Denver) or tour will take you to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. You can hike the trails or, depending on the season, catch a concert. The views from the amphitheater are incredible, like standing on nature’s own stage and if you're short on time, even an hour is enough to take in a lot.
8. Experience Local Craft Breweries

Denver is well known for its craft beer, and a brewery tour is a great way to enjoy it. Many breweries welcome families, so adults can try local brews while kids sip on root beer floats. A tour through the RiNo Art District is a good choice since it lets you visit several spots and get a real taste of the local flavor.
9. Visit the Denver Museum of Nature & Science

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is a great choice for both kids and adults. It has hands-on exhibits, an IMAX theater, and a planetarium that make learning fun. There’s always something new going on, so it’s a good idea to check their schedule before you visit.
10. Wind Down at the Denver Zoo

The Denver Zoo is a great spot to round out your trip. Spread across 80 acres, it’s home to thousands of animals in a beautiful setting. From lions to elephants, there’s plenty to see and learn. If you go early in the day, you might catch the animals when they’re more active.
Denver makes an awesome Spring Break destination. With its mix of city life and natural beauty, you’ll find something special at every turn. Keep an eye out for local events and spring festivals, and enjoy the sunshine while taking in everything the city has to offer
